Remember when during the 2008 Presidential Campaign when Obama and the Democrats were pointing out that gasoline prices were to high and how it was the fault of President Bush and Dick Cheney ? Well, the following photo is a reminder of how expensive gasoline was when Bush left office:

New Massachusetts community
I created a new Massachusetts community, baystate

Theft on Riverside line
My fiance just got home from Riverside station. His bag was stolen on the D train between 10 and 11 PM. It was a thin zippered document pouch, black with his company name and info on the outside in a clear card sleeve. It says "Radiant Panel Association" on the bag in embroidery as well. Beyond the fact there were electronics and his brand new pair of sunglasses, there were irreplaceable documents that he'd been working over a year to have signed and completed. They had been signed....today. We are beyond crushed.
Please if you know someone who "found" a bag on this train by whatever means, please reply. At the very least, ask them for some decency and send the documents to the name on the bag.
We've already reported it to the MBTA and are in the process of reporting to the authorities. Current Mood: crushed

Join us Monday, March 5, 7pm at AIDS Project Worcester for a special discussion group on the Klein Grid.
Dr. Fritz Klein, who recently passed, was a pioneer in bisexual studies by publishing The Bisexual Option in 1979, the first psychological study on the subject. He further contributed to all sexuality studies with his expansion of the Kinsey’s scale, which rates a person’s sexual orientation.
The Klein Grid takes into consideration sexual attractions, fantasies, emotional preference, social preference, lifestyle and self-identification for the past, present and ideal future. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klein_Sexual_Orientation_Grid
Luigi Ferrar, bisexual activist and a colleague of Dr. Klein, will visit from Boston to lead the discussion. Dinner will be provided.
AIDS Project Worcester is located 85 Green street in Worcester, MA. The entrance is behind the store front, follow green APW signs along Plymouth Street. Call Christina 508-755-3773 with any questions.

Election, this Tuesday
[crossposed to ljmass
The Massachusetts primary election is this Tuesday, September 19th
We have two parties with official ballot status in Massachusetts: Democratic and Republican. Both parties will be holding primaries on Tuesday, but as far as I know, there are no contested
Republican primaries anywhere in the state (comment if you know of any). With the exception of Governor, the vast majority of legislative (house & senate, both state and federal) and statewide offices in Massachusetts will go to the Democratic nominees in November. Practically speaking, this Tuesday's Democratic primary will pick most of our officeholders for next year. This is the election that counts, more than November!
You can vote in the Democratic primary if you registered to vote before August 30th, either as a Democrat or as unenrolled (no party). If you registered for a past election, you don't need to re-register. If you moved in the past six months and didn't re-register with your new address, vote at your old address. Find your precinct and polling place at WhereDoIVoteMA.com
.Contested Democratic Statewide Races
A variety of other seats are being contested, including Middlesex Clerk of Courts, US Congress 9th District (parts of Boston and to the south), State Senate districts in the Berkshires, Boston, and Worcester, and a bunch of State House districts. WhereDoIVoteMA.com
will show you who is on your ballot.
Research the candidates...
- Visit their web sites. Even most state rep candidates have web sites you can google for. (I made web sites for Claire Naughton, Chris Hodgkins, and Leah O'Leary)
- For the statewide races, a lot of candidates have videos on YouTube - search for their names
- Look for coverage on the Massachusetts political blogs, starting with Blue Mass Group. Blue Mass Group's blogroll lists all the other MA politics blogs.

WORKSHOPS & SCHEDULE UPDATE:
The workshop committee has been hard at work and we're thrilled to announce that we've revised the schedule on Sunday to accommodate more workshops! We now have 2 full days of programming that will let us all learn even more, find more ways to collaborate, and reach out to even more participants from communities around the Northeast!
For an updated list of workshops, visit our website: http://www.transcendingboundaries.org/workshops/
And, back by popular demand, we'll have space available after the Closing Plenary for participants to create their own workshops. This DIY opportunity was used last year for topics as diverse as a dating discussion group and a reiki demonstration. See the whole weekend schedule on our website: http://www.transcendingboundaries.org/program_schedule/
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS:
Attention health providers, educators, and professionals...
We are working with a college to offer continuing education credits (CEUs), which would be available for an additional fee of about $25. If you're interested in CEUs, please register now at the early rate and contact us for more info.
We still need lots of volunteers!!!
We REALLY, REALLY need people in Central MA to provide community housing as we have a lot of folks coming from out of town who can't afford the $121/night at the hotel.
Please contact Colleen (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Jesse (email@example.com) if you can help.
See you in October,
